Q. Do you have to become a member of the Waterford Chamber to become a member of the network?
A. Waterford Chamber is the promoting organisation for Waterford Chamber Skillnet and while it is not necessary to be a member of Waterford Chamber to avail of Skillnet training it is advisable to talk with a member of staff to hear the beneifts of membership - 051 872639. Waterford Chamber Skillnet is open to any business in the Waterford region that has an interest in up-skilling their employees and benefiting from networking with other companies in the region.
Q. Is there a membership fee involved?
A. Unlike other Skillnets, Waterford Chamber Skillnet does not have a membership fee. Companies are requested to fill out a training plan at the start of the each year based on their training requirements. The total contribution is then paid. Therefore it is in the company’s best interest to send their employees on the allocated courses since there is no refund available at the end of the year.
Q. How much does each course cost?
A. Depending on whether you are a Skillnet Network Member, a Chamber Member or a Non Chamber Member the fees vary.

Q. Do you have to be manufacturing focused or have X amount of employees? 
A. You can be any size or sector to join the Network
Q. Who decides what training programmes run?
A. Our network members dictate what programmes will run and it is the job of the Network Manager to then go and source the appropriate programme and work out what dates best suit the participating companies.  By understanding companies needs we can source trainers that will build specific courses around companies requirements  if the “off the shelf “ courses aren’t specific or relevant.
Q. How much grant aid would our Company be entitled to?
A. How much grant aid a company is entitled to depends on how many employees it has.  A company that has between 1-50 employees is entitled to 50% and a company that has over and above 50 is entitled to 35% of course fees.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. in the event of cancellation  (or a no show on the day)  less than 48 hours prior to the commencement of a training course the Company will be charged 100% of the fee.
